FR3 - Aki Kuroda exhibition report
Château de Malleret is a historic estate in the Médoc region. An exceptional family property, Château de Malleret has been managed since 1860 by the descendants of the founders of the estate, now Aymar du Vivier . This art and culture enthusiast has traveled the world and now includes art within the prestigious estate with knowledge and rigor.
A unique estate, always at the forefront of innovation, Château de Malleret produces sophisticated, contemporary wines. Every step of the winemaking process has recently been redesigned by Production Manager Paul Bordes, who has brought all his expertise and experience to Château de Malleret.
For the second time, the estate is hosting a contemporary art exhibition curated by Yoyo Maeght , who internationally supports emerging artists. Working in the cultural and artistic fields, Yoyo Maeght, with his extraordinary career spanning both private and public sectors, expresses his passion for modern and contemporary art. His expertise and desire to promote culture have led him to organize exhibitions for museums and art centers, both in France and abroad.
It is the artist Aki Kuroda who has taken over the walls of the estate's new cellars. He embodies an avant-garde in perpetual motion, an unclassifiable artist whose work unfolds in a multiplicity of forms and mediums. Painting, sculpture, sets, installations, performances, and choreography: he blurs the boundaries between disciplines, merging classical influences with contemporary experimentation. He constructs a universe where each element dialogues with the next, where the line becomes rhythm, movement, and breath. His visual language, at the crossroads of modern art and contemporary questions, draws as much from art history as from science, literature, and mythology. Marked by a vibrant energy and freedom of gesture, his art defies all fixity, evoking a world in perpetual transformation.
