David Storey Exhibits at Château de Bénat

From June 26 to July 10, 2026, Château de Bénat will host a summer exhibition by British painter David Storey. For two weeks, the artist will settle in this exceptional setting to exhibit his works, confronting his sensibility with the intense light and landscapes of the Var coastline.

A painter of memory and suspended time, David Storey creates canvases inhabited by a gentle melancholy and changing light, where figures fade at the edge of memory. His work, built in successive layers and worked directly into the material, finds a natural resonance in coastal landscapes: the sea, the sky, the low light of evening have always nourished a body of work situated between presence and disappearance.

This residency is part of the Uningo Foundation's commitment to artistic creation and support for contemporary artists.
