.Miró - Maeght posters

The first "lithographic" collaboration between Joan Miró and Aimé Maeght dates from 1947 on the occasion of "The International Exhibition of Surrealism" organized by Aimé Maeght in his gallery with André Breton and Marcel Duchamp.
My grandfather entrusted the design of the poster to Miró. Aimé Maeght, after having been a lithographer worker, opened his Parisian gallery in December 1945 with a Matisse exhibition. The invitation card is, of course, in lithography. So it was, of course, in litho that Miró designed the poster for the 1947 exhibition.
Until the death of Aimé Maeght in 1981, the Artist and the Patron will remain united by an extraordinary friendship in the work. For each of his exhibitions with Maeght, Joan Miró produced an original poster. Here is a selection.
